Community Hub
The Springvale Rise Primary School Community Hub makes use of families’ familiarity with our setting and their established relati onships with school staff to provide a safe and supportive, easily accessible venue for the delivery of a coordinated and tailored array of programs specifically designed to support the needs of our women and their pre-school aged children. It also acts as a bridge, linking mothers / carers, their children and their extended family to the school, the wider community and the network of services and programs available in the City of Greater Dandenong. Our Hub programs have a current focus on early childhood programs (Playgroup and Mother Goose) and English Language Programs; with a clear emphasis on enabling our mothers through social connecti on because we know if we .
Springvale Rise Primary School’s Community Hub is part of the Community Hubs Australia program.
Community Hub - ‘Connect, Share, Learn!’
The Springvale Rise Primary School Community Hub was established in 2014 in partnership with Community Hubs Australia and the Scanlon Foundation. Community Hubs strengthen cohesion in multicultural communities, welcoming families from diverse backgrounds (particularly mothers) to come together to connect, share and learn. The Springvale Rise hub engages with families in our community and provides weekly programs including playgroup, English language / conversation classes, digital literacy and Women’s Friendship Group. All Hub programs are free and compliment the wide variety of parent engagement activities at Springvale Rise Primary School, including the inaugural Foundation Family Fun Day, Harmony Day celebrations, Mother’s Day and Father’s Day activities.
Meet our Community Hub Leader
Hello! I am Julie, the Community Hub Leader at Springvale Rise Primary School. Springvale holds a special place in my heart as I was born here. Growing up in the City of Dandenong area, I have fond memories of shopping with my family in the vibrant shops of Springvale. In 2008, I completed my student placement at this school during my Early Childhood teaching degree and have been a part of this community ever since. Coming from a refugee background myself, I have a deep understanding and passion for supporting newly arrived migrants with settling into Australia. Working within the Springvale community brings me immense joy, and I am committed to empowering others to pursue their aspirations, inspired by the resilience of my own family.

Breakfast Club
Breakfast Club is facilitated across both campuses, every morning in the Community Hub. A free breakfast including toast, toasties, fruit and yoghurt, is provided for students and families who attend. Breakfast Club is an opportunity to sit with others to socialise and enjoy a healthy breakfast before learning starts. Everyone is welcome at Breakfast Club; we hope to see you there. We thank our partner organisations Food Bank and Chobani for providing food for our Breakfast Club.
